Running Scared

Mature, yet still a fawn
knock-kneed,
tripping over my own feet
searching for level ground.
Scuffmarks tell my story,
outline my falls,
failures,
dead ends
with men,
as Grandfather still whispers
from six feet under,
'stupid little whore'.
