By this decade nearly every local friend has moved out of the West Palm Beach area, making the isolation much more difficult to deal with again. When you can't do things with people or talk for extended periods of time (or even get yourself out of the house much due to continued dizziness), it's hard to do what came so easily before the illness. Wonderful people appear on the internet, however, and as our heroine improves, her poetry is published more widely and she even finishes five books with her friend Joe (pictured on the last page). Without his untiring help and friendship this would never have been possible.
Below are photos of some of the internet friends she's been in contact with the most. The larger photos are in thumbnail form. Just click and you'll see the large one! The ones of Jon and Scott are already as big as they'll go.
Geoff Sanderson Now (he would never forgive me for not showing off those younger hiking legs:-) Geoff is from Yorkshire, England. He's a wonderful photographer, a fantastic friend..as is his wife... and teases me mercilessly) > S.A. Griffin A.D. Winans (both of these men are extraordinary poets and incredible friends)

Carter Monroe Jon Bohrn (Carter and I have known each other almost this entire decade, as have Jon and I. Again, two wonderful poets and generous human beings. I adore them both)

I don't have current photos of all the following friends, but the five of us,
with CFIDS (soon, hopefully to be renamed ME/CFS), have shared joint email for
almost this entire decade, encouraging each other when times were rough,
laughing at the high spots, and providing much needed information on the
progress of CFIDS in the medical community. Thank you all, sweet gals...Tina
White, AJ Wildhauer, Nancy Hensen, and Pat Ricci. You're the best! I can
only find a photo of Pat and Nancy.
