Hunger
A friend set forth
the challenge:
pen me a sweet poem of passion.
Easy enough to imagine.
More memories to draw on
than many.
Thirty pages of crossed-out,
go-nowhere notes
later, I realized...
a women with no food
can only write of her hunger.
